What Every Little Boy Dreams Of...

Somehow i have visions of broken collarbones but our boys have a new play spot!! Their daddy was doing his famous drop a tonne of $$ at Costco when he came across this.. It has sat for months in the boys room. So finally I decided to put it together yesterday.. (he helped with the lifting of the 2nd bed, and ensured that all safety standards have been met and has added his seal of good workmanship :) The boys are thrilled .. could not wait for bedtime and spent the first hour after bedtime quietly giggling.. 

I added this very unflattering picture of Brooke.. because i am starting to worry.. Firstly my 8 month old will play with anything.. (definately a 3rd child), and secondly she figured out how to pull up the register.. Oh no!!! I'd hoped my days of hungry registers was coming to an end:(

Inflatable Jumping Animals!!

Just what every child needs.. An indoor jumping toy!! I have to admit after a couple of weeks I am a huge fan, and the boys have not stopped using them.. As a parent I am sick of 1000 piece toy sets - where you are picking up pieces all the time , losing them until finally the whole set is useless, or battery operated toys that require the worlds smallest screw driver to insert new batteries - so therefore only work for the 1st little bit , or big huge toy sets that take up copious amounts of space to store.. So shopping for toys for my kids is a whole lot of NO's on my part.. However Grandma Johnson - or actually Auntie Marci found these great little creatures and thought they would be perfect for long winter days and for burning off extra energy.. (something my boys seem to have piles of).. Hence this great little present!! Happy kids = Happy Mommy!! You'll notice the picture from their website - on their useage.. and then you will see the attached pictures of some of the ways my kids use them!!! Oh well..

Happy Anniversary Babe!!

Last night as Wade and I ate supper.. just the two of us (a truly rare event these days),  it was hard NOT to reminisce and replay the last 6 years... We both agreed that it has gone so fast and that we could not have predicted where we'd be today.. The older i get , the more life seems like this incredible roller coaster ride... Moments of intense exhilaration, when the view from the top is amazing and you seem to know exactly where you are going... but there are those moments of rock bottom, when you don't know whats around the next corner and really all you can do is hang on for dear life...  In a moment of true honesty (please don't hold this against me) Sometimes life seems so much harder than i ever thought it would be... and yet last night I couldn't help but feel... that really it is also soo, soo much sweeter. I am constantly reminded of why i fell in love with him, in all the little things... and yet MORE so because i had never known him in the role of a Father. And when i see him in this role i can't help but love him more..

So my promise to him again is... "I'll be your cryin' shoulder, I'll be love's suicide, I'll be better when i'm older .. and I'll be the greatest fan of your live"... Love you Babe.

                             

We Went to the Bears Den for supper.. A truly incredible eating experience.. If you've never gone.. GO.. The best part besides the incredible food is that they have no clocks and no windows.. So time seems endless.. A perfect setting for time with your love. :) 

2009 - This is the Future!!!

Some of you will agree that it seemed like everybody... and I do mean everybody was having babies in 2009.. I decided to have a little party for all the moms in the Calgary area that had babies in 2009.. Here is the future!!!

As you can imagine it was no small feat getting them all together, smiling and looking... (we didnt ) but already i'm looking forward to young kids parties at our house with this crew:0)

Welcome Spring!!!

In celebration of the warmer weather .... a ZOOO day.. Grandma Johnson actually took the kids while i had an appointment and then met up with them later... The kids loved being outside and seeing the monkeys, elephants, and the zebra... (but for some reason also really like playing at the park there!!) It was a great excuse to get outside.. (thanks again to Sharmi for her generous gift certificate of a pass there :) (we love it)

My boys now think that playing hockey in the hallway is an acceptable practice at hotels!! (thanks Uncle Brett)... You'll also notice the scene that happens when dads and uncles watch kids while ladies go shopping...

Photography Take 2

This is just to practice taking indoor shots.. And i must say i have a new appreciation for studio photographers because getting the lighting right is tough... (I guess i need an external flash now:) Sorry for boring all you out there.. but I wanted some way to keep track and see if i get better at taking pictures... (i must say that i have noticed that my kids keep getting cuter:) (don't think that has to do with the photographer:) Or i might just be there mom.. We're having a case of the Mondays on a Tuesday.. Got back into comfy clothes, had hot chocolate, and watch the pile of laundry grow because we're out of soap :( And just wanted to send a big Virtual Hug !

So today was a BEAUTIFUL day so decided to take the kids to the park... A perfect excuse to practice my photography and skills with my camera.. Today's lesson .... How Sweet She Is...

I know.. I know.. 2 posts in a row about our little Girl.. (but i've had quite a few about the boys in the past - to justify it.. ) I could never imagine life with a girl after my boys who I loved to death.. .there is something about them that is sooo special to a mom.. HOWEVER.. .as of late this little girlie has been making some serious inroads in our hearts.. She is for the most part very content, and happy ... and sits and watches the boys, or else is happy to play with a toy hammer or really anything.... Her shy little smile and lately little snuggles is something i hope i never forget. Her daddy is quite taken with her 'solemn eyes' he calls them.. I am determined to learn some more about my camera and taking pictures and have been playing around with it and a book so please be patient..
