What's In A Name!!!!?

Why is it that with every child you have - this business of naming them bec0mes even more difficult??? And did anyone else have a husband that just refuses to think about it - but hate every suggestion you have... Just for this one (last?) child i'd like to have the kid named when we call everyone to tell them it's born... Isaac was 3 days old, and Jace was 2 days old before they had names... So girlfriends... if you are still happily single, carrying around a list of names for when YOU have your kids... (save yourself the agony and just chuck it right now).... And to you couples who agree easily on names for your kids... Baaahhhhhh...

Happy Happy Birthday!!

So as you will see this is definately 2nd child... (sorry Jace) With Isaac's 1st we had it planned for weeks... I MADE his first cake... and on and on and on... This one.. we had company at our house, I had a massive head cold , and after cake try #2 flopped I made a 'stat' phone call to Daddy to stop at DQ and pick up a cake... So hopefully one day Jace will forgive me...

We had an awesome time with some good friends, little and Big and a great day for BBqing.. Daddy was only too glad to stand post over his 'machine' and cook up some 40 burgers.. YIKES.... And even though there didn't seem to be a tonne of kids Uncle Duane did wonder 'when this daycare closed'.... Anyways none the less the 1st year of this little man's are behind us... and as sad as it makes me almost 99% of the time, I must admit there is a tiny part of me that is sooo relieved that he is not so little and fragile anymore... You'll notice the cake makes mention to "little bear"... Ever since he was born his nickname has been "Little Bear".. (nicknamed by his dad ) for his ferociousness... mostly to do with food... Ironically the Edmonton Sports Team is the Bears ... (where he was born), He is growly when you take his food, and when he learned to crawl - will crawl on all fours... knees not touching the ground... (oh and he also attacks his food much like a little black bear)... Anyways its hard to believe how fast time does go by once you have kids... Its like you are on a runaway train with no brakes....

So Happy Birthday Little Bear!!! We love you...

The Happiest People Don't Have the Best of Everything... They just Make The Best of Everything They Have!!

I have drifted back 1 year and 1 day ago to when they placed Jace in my arms... I was soo thankful that he was alive and breathing... And I realized that for this little man I would give anything... In his unperfect little body with a few challenges he has taught us how to smile... There is hardly a moment when Jace will not smile for us.. There is something so incredibly infectious about him.. We evidenced it in the many nurses he's had over the year who have all commented that he was soo loveable. I want to learn this lesson better... that with God there is no Lack.. That when we are weak in one area... we are soo strong in another. My prayer today is full of Thankfulness... We are so blessed.

Even Safety Sam Has Accidents

Since the arrival of Isaac's new scooter and helmet and knee pads he's taken to wearing it around the house even while NOT riding the scooter... but even when you are "Safety Sam" accidents around the house can still happen... you can never be too safe... This is what happens when you go head first down the stairs and connect with the wall/baseboard...

MIsc. June 2009

The beginning of June marked our 1st camping excursion with the boys and Tyson and Lori Good... Unfortunately we had a great time and this is the only picture i took :( We headed out to Moyie Lake and then down into the States to Coeur d'Alene. The weather was beautiful and the accomodations just rustic enough to feel like we'd left home... Wade's parents came to visit for the rest of the week bearing gifts for Isaac and Jace... Here is the NEW picnic table and gma and gpa having lunch with the boys...
Someday it will not matter how big my house is, how much money is in the bank, or where i have travelled.. only that I have been important in the life of a child...
