Mommy ..

Just some updated photos of our newest little man. He is now in a little cot as opposed to the NICU beds so that feels a bit more normal. He hasn't been able to kick his oxygen habit but seems to be responding well otherwise. His one drug they took him off of may need to be added again but its a day by day thing... He really is CUTE... and getting very spoilt by the nurses, aunts , grandparents and of course his mom and dad. He is definately feisty... when he's hungry... he wants it right now... A lusty cry that we are thrilled about (for now at least... )

1 week old

3 generations of Stewarts..
Jace is 1 week old... and the only one missing from this family pic.

Today we celebrated Jace's 1st week. He is doing well. The neonatologist says " He isn't setting any records ... but he's following the play book" so we are happy. He is completely off his pain drugs and has started on some milk through a tube in his nose. Its amazing how fast your heart can expand.

Jace Ryder Stewart

The best sound in the world... him crying
Ready to go to the Stollery... 1 1/2 hrs old.
Day 1 - Big Brother's First Look at brother
My boys..
18 hrs old... Mommy's 2nd hold.

On June 15th at 6:05 am Jace Ryder Stewart entered our world screaming his head off.. A beautiful sound considering his condition and all that we'd been prepared for (at his birth). An 1 1/2 after he was born he was transported to the Stollery Children's Hospital. He underwent surgery on Tuesday morning to repair his heart and after two anxious days and a few set backs he has started to come out of sedation on Thursday afternoon late... He opened his eyes for his mommy... which was a huge relief... He has strawberry blonde hair, beautiful ears and the cutest little button nose. All of the nurses are in love with him.. As are his parents and his BIG brother Isaac. Here are some pictures of the first 3 days.
Someday it will not matter how big my house is, how much money is in the bank, or where i have travelled.. only that I have been important in the life of a child...
