Just wanted to share with ALL of you... (joking) our "good news week"... Thursday was spent at the Children's for Jace's heart check up... The news was nothing short of amazing... Firstly our regular cardiologist is off on "Maternity" leave. SO we had another cardiologist that had never seen Jace before... She could tell just by looking at his ECHO who his surgeon was... (the best)... Anyways the news is as follows: His right ventrical has grown and is now a normal size for a baby his age... (it was smaller when he was born), the muscle mass that had built up in his RV (due to the blood having been pushed through at such a high pressure - pre surgery) is gone... YEAH!!! a huge hurdle and one that determined greatly whether he would need open heart surgery and a shunt put in. And thirdly the pressure gradiant between the two rV and lung (i think) was 70% when he had his surgery done is now 13%, according to the cardiologist as close to normal as they can get... He still has his ASD hole but that is giving him no problems.. So in her opinion he will need no further surgery and followup is scheduled for 1 year from now...
Also he had surgery on Friday to take a look at his scar tissue in his airway... there was only a tiny amount there and surgeon believes that was there from before so he is cleared for that area as well...
SO we are pleased to announce we have a "normal" and healthy 7 month old...
